Stichproben will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year; at the same time, Special Issue 1/2026 will be the 50th edition. Since the first edition (1/2001), Stichproben has been available in Gold Open Access. As a journal based at the Institute for African Studies, it is supported by a dedicated editorial team and published independently by the Stichproben association. To support the work of Stichproben in the long term, you can become a supporter by taking out an annual subscription. You will receive two printed copies of Stichproben per year. If you become a supporter by January 15, 2026, you can choose three copies of your choice from all issues published to date and receive them free of charge.
